AI and Machine Learning

Programme Overview

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) through a mix of theory and practical exercises. Participants will explore the foundations of AI, machine learning algorithms, data processing, and real-world applications across various industries. By working with intuitive visual tools and coding platforms, participants will gain both conceptual understanding and technical skills to build, evaluate, and apply AI models. The course concludes with group presentations to assess applied knowledge and collaborative problem-solving abilities.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, including their historical development and real-world applications.
  • Process and prepare datasets using Python, including handling missing values, encoding categorical data, normalising features, and applying dimensionality reduction
    techniques.
  • Build and evaluate machine learning models using Machine Learning methods.
  • Interpret and visualise data and model outputs using various tools and techniques such as scatter plots, decision trees, clustering diagrams, and performance metrics.
  • Apply AI and ML techniques to solve practical problems in different industries through case studies and group projects.
