Course Overview

Managing a sustainable and profitable business requires you to develop deep understanding of the dynamics among key components of business, e.g., marketing and sales, HR resource strategy and management, supply chain operations and resources optimisation and implement the appropriate strategies in a timely fashion. This course will provide the basic foundation to equip leaders and managers with systems thinking and system dynamics skill sets that are critical in uncovering deep and counterintuitive insights into the dynamics management of a profitable business model. As advocated by SkillsFuture’s skills for the future digital economy report, these systems thinking and system dynamics skills are essential future-ready skills for the digital economy that will help businesses thrive in an ever dynamics and complex business environment.

Course Objectives

At the end of the programme, participants are expected to be able to:
(1) Describe and apply systems thinking and system dynamics in modelling a business model
(2) Explain how the use of systems thinking and system dynamics can help leaders develop deep and counterintuitive insights and make better decisions in managing their dynamics business model.
(3) Describe and apply the process of systems and system dynamics modelling effectively
(4) Use simulation tools such as loopy and vensim to model common dynamics problems of a digital business model

Other Information

This course is eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP). NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 and above can enjoy higher funding support up to $500 per individual each year, capped at 50% of unfunded course fees, for courses attended between 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2025.
