Quantum Computing Fundamentals

Course Overview

This course will introduce the basics of quantum computing and cover various well-known quantum algorithms e.g. Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm, Simon’s algorithms, quantum Fourier transform, phase estimation, order finding, Shor’s algorithm, and Grover’s algorithm.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, the participants will:

  • Understand quantum computing basics like qubits, unitary transformation, and quantum circuits
  • Understand basic quantum algorithms like Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm and Simon’s algorithms and also more advanced ones like Shor’s algorithm and Grover’s algorithm
  • Become familiar with programming quantum computers using the Qiskit programming language
  • Become familiar with applications of quantum computing e.g. in quantum finance, quantum cryptography, etc

Prerequisites

Minimum Diploma and knowledge in Linear Algebra will be helpful.
