Course Objectives

This Professional Certificate will equip learners with the following competencies:

  • Understand what UXD is & the role of a UX Designer in the system development life cycle.
  • Understand the skillsets a UX Designer must have to perform UXD.
  • Understand the concepts of cognition, attention, memory, and mental models, and why are they important for UXD
  • Understand the three components – Perception, Emotion and Sensation that make up an Experience
  • Design appropriate Cognitive, Social and Emotional interactions to achieve the intended effects of influencing the components of Experience.
  • Design products/services to influence human behaviour.
  • Learn to perform the various techniques in Requirements Discovery.
  • Learn to generate UX recommendations based on processes, policies, and people via the creation of Personas, Problem Scenarios and Use Case Definitions.
  • Package and present the UX recommendations within the political, social, economic, and technological constraints.

  • UI Designer

Prerequisites

Required a min of 1 year of experience in Service/System Design and/or customer/client-facing roles.
