Course Objectives

This Professional Certificate will equip learners with the following competencies:
• Able to send data from edge devices to gateways, and from gateways to cloud servers and back
• Proficient in designing publish-subscribe protocols centered around MQTT, and design and build RESTful servers
• Able to secure communications between edge devices and gateways, and between gateways and backend cloud servers
• Acquire the skills to design and build resilient and scalable backend servers
• Acquire the skills and knowledge to build efficient and robust backend databases and distributed ledgers (i.e. blockchains).

Job Role Readiness

It will prepare learners in the following job roles to perform their responsibilities more effectively:

  • IoT engineers
  • Backend/ Blockchain engineers

Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computing or Mathematics, with programming knowledge
• Other Bachelor’s Degree holders with programming knowledge may be considered.
• Learners should have taken the set of three courses for the Professional Certification in Basic Electronics and Microcontroller Programming for the Internet of Things
