Course Objectives

This Professional Certificate will equip learners with the following competencies:

  • Understand and articulate features and functions of mobile networks from 1G to 5G end-to-end, especially in the transformation from dedicated hardware to virtualization, Cloud and microservices.
  • Basics of 5G Core elements and 5G Radio functionalities and their optimisations.
  • Management, charging and cybersecurity for a 5G network at Radio and Core levels, and endpoint devices.
  • 5G Network Security: Exposures, threat surface and mitigations.
  • Edge Computing: drivers of adoption, architecture and use cases.
  • In-depth case studies of real-life scenarios and deployments of 5G networks.
  • Latest developments in 5G applications, Network Slicing, Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC), Open RAN, Private 5G networks.

It will prepare learners in the following job roles to perform their responsibilities more effectively/ It will prepare learners for the following job roles:

  • Application and product developers porting existing product to 5G networks or developing new products on 5G.
  • Architects and technical managers who are new to 5G and telecom networks.
  • Architects, core network engineers, radio engineers who need to upgrade to 5G from 4G or from IT networks.

Prequisites
