Programme Overview

Digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation is about the adoption of innovative technologies to meet business goals. But with the business world today charged with soaring volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, business leaders require additional skills in both augmenting the business with relevant digital technology and uncovering and delivering value from these digital assets through effective digital and AI operations.

However, the majority of the digital and AI transformation efforts in large organisations are failing today at an alarming rate, as the gap between aspiration and reality is never addressed in such a major endeavour. The basic causes of these undesirable outcomes boil down to three factors: the alignment of goals and value between business and IT, the lack of competencies in deploying these cutting-edge technologies, and the failure to adopt and scale these initiatives over a long period. This professional certificate focuses on the Digital and AI transformation imperatives and how organisations can avoid these three common pitfalls.

    Mr Lim Kuo Siong

    Mr Lim Kuo Siong is the senior advisor of Singapore Consultancy, co-founder of Tech Talent Assembly (NTUC), board advisor of digital technology boards (insurance, human capital, construction & AI), and partner of an angel investment company.

    Kuo Siong served as C-suite leadership positions in area of technology, digitalization, business operations and transformation, managed tech projects portfolio more than US$50 million and business portfolio more than US$10 billion for leading financial institutions, based in Asia and Europe region. Kuo Siong was recognised as a Leading Practitioner (Tech & Innovation) by The Asian Banker, MIS Asia CIO 100, and has completed INSEAD (France) advanced management program and master’s degree from University of Adelaide (Australia). Kuo Siong is a chartered member of British Computer Society.

    Mr Thian-Hwei Kung

    Mr Thian-Hwei Kung

    Mr Thian-Hwei Kung is an IT practitioner, experienced in IT applications and infrastructure for Infocomm and high tech manufacturing industries with more than 30 years in manufacturing environment with MNC like Makino, Sanmina-SCI, Infineon Technologies. In Makino and Sanmina-SCI, Thian-Hwei served in regional leading role in the organisations, leading teams in area of technology, digitization, leading the organisation in Industry 4.0 efforts. In this role, he worked with business to deliver IT projects, solutions and digitization across the companies. With many years in diverse manufacturing sectors, Thian Hwei has acquired experiences and knowledge in manufacturing processes and systems. He is able to share practices in the use of technologies in the manufacturing industry sector to support businesses. In the last 12 months, Thian-Hwei is one of the facilitators for the Advanced Manufacturing modules and sharing the concepts and experiences of digitization in manufacturing.

    Mr Soh Kin Wei

    Mr Soh Kin Wei

    Mr Soh Kin Wei has over 28 years of senior IT leadership experience in global industry-leading companies such as Pfizer, Cargill and Air Liquide. He is now VP, Digital and IT of Air Liquide, a world leader in gases, technologies and services for industry and health. In Air Liquide Kin Wei is responsible for creating value through digital technology that run, protect and change the business. Prior to Air Liquide he was the Chief Technology Officer of Jaungle, and Chief Information Officer APAC for Cargill, where he directed the organization’s overall IT strategy and provide vision and leadership in all technology operation. Throughout his career, Kin Wei has re-energized century-old businesses through digitally enabled transformations, led enterprise-wide cloud, data and ERP programs, and remodelled global finance and IT shared services operations that aligned to business aspirations. Well-travelled to over 25 countries for work, he is also personally a startup evangelist.

    Kin Wei received his MBA with honours from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma. He has a BS degree with distinction in Computer and Information Science from the University of Singapore.

    He is passionate in paying it forward by sharing his experience with aspiring ICT professionals.

    1. Total Nett Programme Fee Payable, including GST, after additional funding from various funding schemes.
    2. Participants must fulfill at least 75% attendance and pass all assessment components for all short courses within a professional certificate in order to be eligible for SSG funding.
    3. Please note that all external funding for courses is limited in duration and subject to eligibility and availability.
    4. Maximum Candidature Period: Candidates who enrol for the professional certificates must complete the programme within three years from the start of their course.
