NOSQL Database and MongoDB

Course Overview

This course teaches the major NoSQL databases including key-value, document, column family, and graph. The focus of this course is on MongoDB, a NoSQL database system. Learners will be taught how to set up a database and start exploring different ways to search, create applications to analyze and visualize data with MongoDB.

This module is part of Professional Certificate in Database Management.

Course Objectives

This course will equip learners with the following competencies:

  • Learn what is a MongoDB database
  • Learn to work with data stored in BSON or JSON format
  • Learn to import, export and query
  • Learn to create and manipulate documents in MongoDB
  • Master the use of Create, Read, Update and Delete (CRUD) operations
  • Learn to create an Aggregation Pipeline and explore the use of Compass utility for visualizing MongoDB data

    At least a polytechnic diploma.
