Digital Project Management for Informaticians

Course Overview

This course trains informaticians to be conversant with the planning and execution process in digital projects. It teaches how to conduct cost-benefit analysis, develop project plan, review project plans, estimate budgetary needs, assess consolidated project plans, manage governance requirements, evaluate and address business environment changes, manage project closure, document project scope, changes and issues, and team management. The various topics covered in project management will be discussed from the context of informaticians in a healthcare environment.

This module is part of Professional Certificate in Health Information Management.

Course Objectives

Upon completing the course, the learner is able to:

  • Apply the various models and tools learnt in Digital Project Management
  • Understand Requirements Management in relations to planning and executing digital proejcts
  • Apply Change Request Management in healthcare services
  • understand the importance of project governance in digital project execution models
  • Create a Project Management Plan taking into account the risk management aspects

Prerequisites

At least a polytechnic diploma.
