Database Creation, Manipulation, and Querying with SQL

Course Overview

This course teaches how to create a database, manipulate it with data, and make queries on the data using SQL, a structured, relational query language commonly used to retrieve data from databases. Learners will be taught how to create a MySql Database, single table queries and the basic syntax of the SQL language, as well as database design with multiple tables, foreign keys, and the JOIN operation.

This course is part of Professional Certificate in Database Management.

Course Objectives

This course will equip learners with the following competencies:

  • Learn what is SQL
  • Learn SQL commands and code to create databases and tables
  • Learn SQL commands and code to manipulate databases such as insert, delete and update records
  • Learn the JOIN operation to query databases with multiple tables

    At least a polytechnic diploma.
