Course Overview
This course helps learners understand how businesses can create interfaces to interact in the Metaverse. Interface concepts specific to the Metaverse which include Augmented and Virtual Reality will be introduced, and learners will learn how to create these interfaces using free software tools such as A-frame.io, Unity and other software packages. Learners will get to experience their design creations through their personal devices and understand how all these fit into the Metaverse as a whole, so as to create viable business solutions in the Metaverse.
This module is part of Professional Certificate in Designing Metaverse-ready Immersive Experiences.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, learners should be able to:
- Understand how Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) interfaces are used to interact in the Metaverse.
- Create AR/VR interfaces using free software tools.
- Use AR/VR interfaces as part of a business solution to enable potential customers to interact with a company’s products and services in the Metaverse.

Executives, Developers, Designers and Managers in Information Technology related fields, business development, strategic planning and operations.
Prerequisites
Minimum Diploma in Information Technology or related fields.

Dr Lu Weiquan

Dr Lu Weiquan
Dr Lu Weiquan is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing in NUS who examines the User Experience (UX) Design of technologically-empowered learning environments. He designs and utilizes experiential learning technology (such as simulations, Augmented and Virtual Reality) in the courses he teaches, and his education research interests include figuring out how all this technology tangibly and measurably affects human learning using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He also advises the government in the fields of UX design and experiential learning, and he develops Metaverse applications for industry clients. He holds a B.Comp. in Computing and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NUS.

Participants must fulfill at least 75% attendance and pass all assessment components to be eligible for SSG funding.
