Course Overview

Currently, most businesses run on cloud infrastructure directly or indirectly. The main objective of this course is for participants to understand its principles. This course will introduce foundational cloud computing concepts. Basic overview of cloud, cloud vs traditional infrastructure models, different cloud deployment and delivery models, advantages and disadvantages of cloud when considering adoption and some examples. We will cover some popular Software as a service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) applications with hands-on activities in this course.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will able to:
• Know about cloud computing, its history, and evolution
• Understand the difference between cloud and traditional infrastructure models
• Learn the different cloud deployment and delivery models
• Understand the advantages and disadvantages of cloud
• Gain hands-on knowledge on some sample SaaS and PaaS solutions in the public cloud

  3. Participants must fulfill at least 75% attendance and pass all assessment components to be eligible for SSG funding.
  4. Singaporeans and Singapore PRs are eligible for up to 90% SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) funding, subject to SSG funding guidelines.

Other Information

This course is eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP). NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 and above can enjoy higher funding support up to $500 per individual each year, capped at 50% of unfunded course fees, for courses attended between 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2025.
