Course Overview

While there are many new web development frameworks, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) remain the two most essential building blocks of web development. This course is meticulously crafted to provide aspiring web developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts with a deep understanding of the foundations of web development, empowering them to build professional-looking websites. Through a hands-on and interactive learning approach, participants will delve into the fundamental concepts of HTML and gain proficiency in creating well-structured websites. They will also explore the power of CSS, learning how to control the layout, appearance, and interactivity of web pages. By the end of this course, participants will have honed their skills and gained the confidence to pursue further advanced web development topics, setting them on the path to becoming proficient and sought-after web developers in today’s digital landscape.

Course Objectives

At the completion of the course, the participants will be able to:

Understand the basics of HTML: they will learn the fundamental structure of HTML documents, including tags, elements, and attributes
Understand the basics of CSS: CSS syntax, selectors, and properties to control the layout, colours, typography and overall presentation of web pages
Learn the skillsets to build professional-looking websites: responsive design and use of templates
Build the confidence and ability to build a website from scratch
Develop the foundation skills needed for advanced web development which will eventually allow them to become competent and skillful web developers
