Course Overview

Deep learning (DL) is an important breakthrough in the history of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Thanks to deep learning, we can develop high-performance and intelligent systems to solve real-life problems in many industries, e.g. healthcare, manufacturing, finance and business. DL also handles semi-structured and unstructured data efficiently and has been extensively used in computer vision and natural language processing areas. In this course, we are going to introduce deep learning and its applications and then focus on the design and development of deep learning models for image classification and text analysis tasks.

Course Objectives

At the completion of the course, the participants will be able to:

  • Understand deep learning models: basic neural networks, convolutional neural networks (CNN) and recurrent neural networks (RNN)
  • Understand the universal machine learning workflow for approaching deep learning problems
  • Develop CNN models to solve computer vision and text analysis problems
  • Develop RNN models to solve text analysis problems

Job Role Readiness

ICT executives, managers, engineers and analysts.

Prerequisites

  • Basic AI and Machine Learning knowledge
  • Basic Python programming skills (Click to view the course detail of Python Programming)

Testimonials

Dr Ai Xin provides a very clear explanation on how the ML algorithms of different neural networks work under the hood, with straightforward and relatable examples and calculations that are accessible to students without much coding and computing background.

Tan Zhi Han

The course was short and informative, and covered all the important models in Deep Learning. I like that the instructor kept the complex details minimal, and instead focused on what researchers were trying to achieve with each model. The instructor was also very friendly and eager about answering all our questions in detail.

Learn a lot from the course.
