Course Objectives
This Advanced Professional Certificate will equip learners with the following competencies:
- Guides the learners through service problem analysis, process design, and process analytics, and examines the related innovation governance and leadership issues
- Design and develop frameworks, methodologies, and processes to manage the Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation value chain including ensuring compliance with AI ethics and governance

Assoc Prof Oh Lih Bin

Assoc Prof Oh Lih Bin
Assoc Prof Oh Lih Bin is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head (Teaching and Degree Programmes) in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics, NUS School of Computing. Between 2008 and 2014, Dr Oh was Assistant/Associate Professor of Information Management at the School of Management, Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) in Xi’an, China. He also served as the school’s Academic Director of International Affairs and Programs from 2011-2013. He has held visiting appointments at the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Michigan State University Broad College of Business.
Prior to pursuing an academic career, Dr Oh worked as a senior officer (infocomm sciences) in the Science and Engineering Research Council of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). He also had adjunct lecturing experience in the off-campus programs of Monash University Gippsland School of Information Technology. He has taught courses in IT and service innovation, information systems leadership, e-commerce, and information ethics at the undergraduate, graduate, and MBA/EMBA levels. Dr Oh obtained his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Information Systems and B.Sc. (First Class Honors) in Computer and Information Sciences from NUS.
Dr Charles Phua Chao Rong

Dr Charles Phua Chao Rong
Dr Charles Chao Rong Phua is an academic-practitioner of trisector strategy-innovation-entrepreneurship. With 22 years in government and corporate doing various domains (corporate, geopolitical, policy and military) and phases (design, implementation, monitoring/adjustment) of strategy work, he now runs Solaris Strategies Singapore and chairs Solaris Consortium of Management Consultancies with full suite of consulting capabilities. Besides (local and overseas) government and nonprofit consulting, his corporate consulting ranged from strategy development for then $916b tech MNC to $1M start-up to sector/industry transformation to organisational development for 12 organisations. He teaches trisector strategy practicums in 4 Singapore and 1 Swiss universities, and is success coach/program leader for Chief Strategy Officer program with Emeritus and National University of Singapore Business School.
His first PhD was in public policy (strategic pragmatism as strategy) and EdD (soon) on teaching strategy with postgraduate/degrees (including in progress) in international relations, education, security management, accounting, organisational psychology, systems thinking, law, HRM, marketing, economics/finance, strategy and innovation, amongst others. He learnt strategy-innovation-entrepreneurship, marketing and sustainability from top B schools: Harvard strategy, leadership and management, entrepreneurship and innovation, MIT systems thinking, Stanford design, Wharton strategy and entrepreneurship, INSEAD advanced strategy, Babson entrepreneurship, Kellogg marketing, Berkeley open innovation, LBS and Cambridge sustainability, Oxford strategy and scenarios, and fused them in his consulting and teaching/coaching practice. He has won scholarships from NUS (PhD), NTU (EdD), Goldman Sachs (twice), Oxford and Cambridge (partial) and completed fellowships at Brookings Institution, Columbia, Johns Hopkins. He is a Singapore Skillsfuture fellowship awardee and Routledge series editor for strategy, wisdom and skills.
He is amongst 100 global professor/author grade Certified Management Consultant-Academic Fellow (International Council of Management Consulting Institutes); previous winners included heads of business schools and programs. He is author of four and two (forthcoming) books covering geopolitical, policy, and corporate strategy. His 3rd and 4th published books are under consideration for two PhDs in military/security and corporate strategy, by publication. His 5th book seeks to integrate strategy in military, corporate, geopolitical and policy domains; his 6th book on teaching strategy from his EdD thesis; both manuscripts under production. He is currently writing his 7th book on corporate sustainability strategy and 8th book on trisector strategy-innovation-entrepreneurship.
Mr Zaid Bin Hamzah

Mr Zaid Bin Hamzah
Mr Zaid Bin Hamzah is a data and AI practitioner. He is currently Managing Partner behind the brand FutureLaw.ai, a platform that builds capabilities of legal & business professionals in Legal AI/Analytics and Legal Data Science. A technology lawyer with deep transactional experience, Zaid has over 35 years of professional experience in the field of law, technology and intellectual property. He has previously served as (i) Microsoft’s Director for intellectual property and commercial software; (ii) Senior Legal Advisor to Singtel’s JV with Warner Bros and Sony Pictures (iii) Chief Regulatory Legal & Compliance Officer at listed Telekom Malaysia; (iv) Associate, Khattar Wong & Partners (Singapore law firm) and (iv) Singapore Government service. Zaid is an Executive Education Fellow of NUS School of Computing teaching AI Innovation Management, Intellectual Property Rights in AI Innovation, and Commercialisation of AI Innovation. Author of 9 books covering IP/IT law, technology commercialisation, intellectual property and financing, Zaid has in-depth Asian experience and all-round corporate/commercial exposure in Singapore & SE Asia. Zaid is also a Board Member of NIE International which is wholly owned by Nanyang Technological University and he currently serves as an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University.
