Course Objectives

This Advanced Professional Certificate will equip learners with the following competencies:

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of the Data Protection and Do-Not-Call provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA)
  • Operationalise key aspects of the Data Protection Management Programme such as governance and risk management, stakeholder engagement and data breach management
  • Understand the foundations of cybersecurity, and explain the important key cybersecurity concepts and basic techniques
  • Demonstrates how cyberattacks can target hosts, networks, and web servers and how the target systems can subsequently be hardened
  • Understand the business risks, team structure, governance models, investment decisions, quantifying outcomes, sourcing strategies and communicating effectively with cybersecurity professionals.
  • Learn to implement an effective business continuity plan and implement controls against potential security concerns.
  • Learn the essence of privacy engineering and ensure privacy frameworks, methodologies and techniques are being used to embed privacy into products and systems.
