5G is fast and reliable. It also enables the operator to offer different classes of service through network virtualisation in network slicing. 5G is able to do the above through new radio spectrum, new antenna technologies like Massive MIMO and beam forming, new modulation techniques and end-to-end network provisioning. In this course, we will explain the above terms and how the implementation is done. We will also explore Open RAN as a standard, its deployments and how it can disrupt the telecom and enterprise equipment market and what to look out for. Case study on Rakuten, Japan
